Vicky Wang
About
Vicky is a Taiwanese-Canadian who is a 3rd-year medical student at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine after applying straight-through. She attended Johns Hopkins University and graduated Phi Beta Kappa with her B.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology after 3.5 years. At Hopkins, Vicky spent the majority of her time volunteering with Alpha Phi Omega and at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, shadowing doctors, conducting research in various labs, and working at the recreational center as a Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor. Her research interests ranged from HIV to dermatology to child psychiatry, and she enjoyed both wet lab as well as clinical research. As someone who loves teaching, Vicky also tutored organic chemistry to her peers and volunteered as a tutor at Chesapeake Detention Facility. During her free time, Vicky loves to play the piano, work out, cook, and explore the outdoors. Talk to Vicky if you have questions about applying straight-through, applying to both American and Canadian medical schools, finding balance, and/or anything else related to the application process!
