Sofia is from Guatemala, where she lived until she was 18 years old. She completed by undergraduate education at Texas Christian University, in Forth Worth Texas. During that time, she volunteered as a medical interpreter and engaged in Alzheimer Disease research at my university. She subsequently went home to Guatemala for two years prior to being admitted to the University of Virginia School of Medicine.
After graduation, she plans to complete my Internal Medicine residency and likely pursue a fellowship in Gastroenterology.
