About
Sara is an incoming medical student at Rocky Vista College of Osteopathic Medicine. Originally from Italy, she moved to the United States in 2017 for a high school exchange year, which inspired her to pursue higher education at Truman State University. There, she earned a degree in Psychology with a minor in Biology.
During her undergraduate years, Sara gained valuable hands-on experience as an Anatomy Cadaver Lab Teaching Assistant, enhancing her understanding of human biology. She also served as a Shift Leader for the Research Center for Applied Psychophysiology, and as the International Students Ambassadors Coordinator, where she mentored and supported her peers. Sara was an active member of Alpha Sigma Alpha and the Order of Omega Honor Society. In addition to her academic pursuits, she spent considerable time volunteering in her community, developing a deep passion for service and education. After college, Sara took a gap year, working as a Medical and Surgical Technician in a refractive surgery clinic in St. Louis. Through her extensive shadowing and clinical experiences in the operating room, Sara developed a strong passion for surgery and hopes to pursue a career as a surgeon. In her free time, Sara enjoys painting, cooking, hiking, and running.
