Christian is an incoming MD student at Stanford Medicine. He is from Cameroon and was born
in Senegal. He grew up in a French-speaking city in Cameroon. In 2014, he moved to the US for
higher education and learned English as a Second Language (ESL) at 17 years old. He then
enrolled at the University of Massachusetts (UMass) Boston. As an undergraduate student, he
spent a lot of his time tutoring in Organic Chemistry and working in research laboratories at
UMass Boston and at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Christian has been
interested in infectious diseases. After graduating with a B.S. in Biology in 2019, he spent two
gap years in laboratories at the Ragon Institute of MGH, MIT and Harvard, where he studied
host-pathogen interactions in HIV infection. Besides infectious diseases, Christian is interested
in translational medicine and global health.
