Nkechi is a Nigerian medical student currently enrolled at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (MSUCOM). She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from The George Washington University (GWU) and a Master of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health (JHUSPH). She worked for two years as a research scientist at Johns Hopkins University before starting medical school. As a medical student, she served as President of her school's American Physician Scientists Association (APSA) chapter and Treasurer of the Student National Medical Association (SNMA) chapter.
