Merry Joseph
About
Merry Joseph is a first-year medical student at the University of Utah School of Medicine. She is originally from India and grew up in Singapore before moving to the United States with her family. Merry has navigated both pre and post-secondary education in the U.S. After finishing high school in Utah, she attended the University of Utah and graduated in 2021 with B.S. in Biomedical Engineering and Psychology. As an undergraduate student, Merry served as a two-term Presidential Intern, helped create a K-12 pipeline program for underrepresented students, was a social work volunteer at her local hospital, and was involved in asthma and bioinformatics research at the Huntsman Cancer Institute and Mayo Clinic, respectively. Merry is passionate about improving health outcomes for underrepresented communities and empowering future patients to lead healthier lives. She speaks three languages and, in her free time, enjoys singing at her church, practicing Bharatanatyam dance, and reviewing Netflix shows with her friends.
