About
Mario is an incoming intern in the Emergency Medicine residency program at Massachusetts General Hospital/Brigham and Women’s Hospital (Harvard). He graduated in 2021 from the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW). He was born and raised in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. After graduating from high school, he moved to the USA to achieve his lifelong dream of becoming a physician. He graduated with a BS in biology and a minor in chemistry from Truman State University in Kirksville, MO. Mario is passionate about medical education, mentorship, and empowering people to achieve success through educational advancement. Throughout his time at MCW, he served as a peer tutor, admissions interviewer, and contributed to MCW’s curriculum redesign. Mario has received numerous awards for his leadership, tutoring, and service to the MCW and Milwaukee community. He was selected into the Alpha Omega Alpha and Gold Humanism Honor societies.
