Gopika is an MD/PhD student at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. She received her B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Throughout her education, she has been involved with numerous research projects focused on therapeutic strategies and clinical outcomes in cancer patients. She was also involved with curriculum improvement initiatives and biomedical product development efforts through application of human-centered design principles. She is passionate about increasing healthcare access in the Milwaukee community and mentoring undergraduate students. She is the recipient of 2020 Women in Science Student Award, 2019 American Association of Cancer Research 2nd place Undergraduate Award, and 2015 Inaugural United Way of GMWC Philanthropic Youth Award.
