Amyn grew up in Karachi, Pakistan and received his medical degree (MBBS) from the Aga Khan University in 2010. In 2012, Amyn received a Fulbright Master's scholarship to attend Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health for a Master's in Public Health (MPH). He graduated in 2013 and was inducted in Delta Omega, the national honor society for public health (Alpha chapter). After graduation, Amyn returned to Pakistan and started working again in the field of public health with focus on tuberculosis control. In 2015, he returned to the US to start his doctoral training in Epidemiology at Emory University. Amyn graduated in 2019 with a PhD in Epidemiology and is currently working as an infectious disease epidemiologist and postdoctoral associate at Yale Institute for Global Health. His current research and work focuses on respiratory illnesses including various aspects of COVID-19.
