About

Juliana is an incoming medical student at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She was born and raised in Brazil before moving to the US in 2017. She received her B.S. in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of South Florida in 2021. During her undergraduate years, she was a mathematics and physics tutor, a student leader at the admissions office, a member of the Honors College, the recipient of the Latin American-Caribbean Scholarship and the Florida-Brazil Linkage Institute Award, and a volunteer at hospitals, medical clinics, and pet shelters. She spends most of her time volunteering with underserved patients at a free clinic in Tampa, where she translates medical consults and serves as a medical assistant. Juliana is very passionate about addressing disparities in health care and helping patients in need. She hopes to continue her work throughout medical school.
