Venkat Suru is an Indian Canadian DO candidate at the Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He received his Bachelor of Science in Medical Sciences at the University of Cincinnati. As an undergraduate student, Venkat served as president of TEDxUCincinnati, led student initiatives that catered to underserved populations in Cincinnati, OH, and conducted research at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center involving the effects of glucocorticoid receptor knockout on epilepsy in mouse models. He has also taken part in multiple volunteering opportunities both locally and globally, including his time providing companionship to the elderly at the Maplewood Hospice and giving a helping hand to healthcare professionals at La Independencia, a rural clinic in Cusco, Peru. At LUCOM, he currently serves as a student representative on the Diversity Committee as well as the vice president of his class government. Venkat is extremely excited to help international students navigate through their journey to becoming healthcare professionals!
