Martina is a first-year medical student at Sidney Kimmel Medical College in Philadelphia. She is originally from Brescia, Italy. After finishing high school, she moved to Los Angeles where she attended UCLA and graduated with a B.S. in Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology. During her time in college, she was the co-founder of a neurology research student group at Ronald Reagan Medical Center, volunteered as a tutor in underserved communities, and was involved in neurology and cancer research. After graduation she took a gap year to conduct basic science cancer research at UCSF before enrolling in medical school.
